The epitome of getting bogged down by world-building: I actually had a snippet I was writing for tonight, that concerning a poem Hebe wrote for a class assignment. Now, it was a poem for like, eighth or seventh grade, so I wouldn't have to make it stellar, but the assignment also called for using lines from a language other than English, and she picked the Trade-Tongue.
Which means I had to write lines in a language I've hardly touched since I was twelve, and try to put the new words phonetically into the roman alphabet from a speech that is based a lot more on growls and aspirations.
And now, most of the way done with the individual lines, and not nearly as far with the poem, I have too much of a headache to continue and an additional ooginess that makes we want to curl up in bed rather than look through my recent collection of random snippets for one suitable to post. : P
