Some times I love my brain.
Jan. 12th, 2008 11:26 amSo... I had this dream last night. Most of it was weird and twisted up and involved fighting, a lot of it one the side of these two older teenaged females. The girls remind me a little of Slayers, only I don't think there are any vampires in this setting. I think they are just super-heroes. At some point, something goes wrong, and these passcard/credit card things they use to move around, pay for gas, etc. stop working. So now they're forced to be on foot, while fighting, trying to get back to their headquarters because there's apparently also been a weird quasi-political coup going on, and they can't get in touch with whoever is running their organization. It's very frustrating. And at least a day or two goes by in all of this, and it's early morning and they're in the city, trying to get access to the higher-up they need to speak to, only the security guards won't let them in, because their passcards aren't coming up on the scanner. The pair are trying to figure out how to break into the place, knowing it's a far shot.
It's all kind of confusing, but I remember the ending very well, because that is when John Spencer - who is basically playing his Leo McGarry role to the hilt- shows up. He drives up next to the pair and asks what is going on- why are they walking? The younger one starts to explain- "We kind of had a problem with our finances- when the Old Trust Bank got absorbed by the New Trust bank, some stuff must have got mixed up, and they said-"
The older girl cuts her off. "They lost our account. They say it doesn't exist."
"What?" He gets out of the car, and says he'll take care of it. He heads for the courthouse-type building nearby, the girls in his wake. "We're giving you girls millions of dollars to keep the world from being destroyed," he points out, as they trail him up the stairs, knowing full-well they're about to see him kick some ass in their name, lawyer-style. The guards know him by sight, and it's like the tide of security parts before him at a glance, especially when they see his expression.
"Most parents, when they give you money, all they ask in return is that you don't capsize the El Camino," the older of the girls replies, her younger companion chiming in on the latter half of the sentence.
...and then, unfortunately, I woke up. Which was irksome, 'cause I really wanted to see him in action. It would have been awesome. Things would have been straightened out and the people who caused the problems- and failed to be helpful in resolving it- in the first place would have soo gotten what was coming to them.
And I would have given a lot to know the story behind the sinking of an El Camino in a lake that has clearly become an inside joke for the two girl characters.
