you know...all this time I thought people were joking about this part of the fight, and that Mal had hit Brooklyn in the solar plexus...

O.O

Apparently not. Jesus, no wonder he passed out.

*squee of happiness*
it turns out I do still have plaster bandages here, so I don't have to walk down to school tonight.

I give you, Lynati's recipe for gargoyle feet, Version 2, take 1:
1) Find boots (thrift storesa re good for this)that zip up on the inside, calf-height or higher. They should have a tall heel- 3 inches if you can find that- and a very narrow, pointy toe. Not so narrow that it hurts your feet, though, you need these to be comfy. But your whole foot is fitting inside the middle toe of the gargoyle foot...and if the boot has a big round toe, you are going to have either huge bump in your "foot", or have to make all the toes correspondingly huge. Going for the streamlined fit saves a lot of hassle later on.

2) trace the heel of the boot along with the toe onto a paper grocery bag that you have split open and cut the bottom off of. leave the boot on the trace and first mentally, then physically, map out where your toes will go. (For most gargoyles, there will be one toe to either side of the Boot Toe. The heel spur does not need to be traced, since it doesn't touch the ground at all, and will be handle later.)

3) Get some plasticine (oil based clay) and build up a base against/around the boot for your plaster strips. (the Palstwer will laster be anchored to the boot, and will be the support for the material on top.)The plasticine need not be detailed in anyway, since it is waste material, only there to give your plaster a shape to dry around. Now, you want to plasticine fairly close to the form you want, but small enough that you leave enough room to lay several layers of plaster bandages, then wax, over top of the plasticine for your final form. (Basically, if you make the plasticine under-form too big, your toe will wind up too bulky. if it is easier, sculpt the form you want all out of plasticine and then go back and take off a 1cm layer from all over it. This is a core. Think of it as the bones in your feet, and you need to leave room to sculpt the muscles and flesh over it.

4) layer up your plaster, preferebly while your foot is in the boot to make sure it dries wide enough. (I think 5 layers outght to be enough...I'll find out tonight or tomorrow.)

let plaster dry, preferably overnight.

6)Gut out the plasticine used as the core/base in step 3 for re-use, and clean excess off of internal plaster form. place back over boot and fix in place with duct tape. Take a very small drill bit (as in, just fractionally larger than a needle) and drill hole strait through the plaster and the leather of the boot in sets of two, 1/2 an inch infront of the zipper, on the opposite side of the boot from there, on the top of the end of the toe, and on top at your ankle where the plast meets the front of the legging. Use wire at each set of holes to secure platser shell to boot. If you never intend to re-use the boot, another bonding agent that is known to work well on both leather and plaster (certain types of superglue)should be used at similar points, perhaps over a more thorough area. Again, this gluing step shoudl be done while your foot is in the shoe. Avoid the zipper. ; )

5) layer up your sculpting layer, microcrystalline wax or more plasticine by preference. Sculpt until done.

now, you can stop here and just color your surface, or, you can take a cast of the total foot- in which case I suggest you build wax up around the legging part of the boot- in rubber or some such, the go back and scrape off the wax, re-fit your boot into the rubber mold, and pour a latex (or related material) replacement for the wax. Again, cover the zipper, and roll down the ankle part to reveal the zipper.

...bear in mind, that part of the plan has not been tried by me in this manner just yet. I'm just writing out the steps I intend to follow. ; )
