aaand I started thinking, you know, peoiple have already seen my Lynati outfit, and I haven't had time to fix the wings, maybe I shoudl do something more original for the con...like Ophelia.

then I thought, "I don't have tiem to cast the wings or probably the feet", etc, only THEN I thought- I don't *have* to. I can just make them out of wax and color the surface like I did for Madison's face. Enough acryclic gloss medium and either thinned green plastic or tissue paper and I've got spiffy wings. I can have a kick-ass costume this year and STILL have great room for improvement next year if I go as Sarsvati, with everything all properly rubbery and whatnot.

So, we'll see. ironically enough, the tail is going to be the hardest part. I'm not sure I can manage a decent understructure for hers...mayeb I can fake it.

nostalgia moment

(no subject)

Was rather productive today; after updating the garg cap site I made it to the bank, closed that extraneous account and fixed some things, including my new card. Got cheap Chinese takeout, new pointy toed, high-heeled boots for $15 bucks as a base for my Ophelia feet…picked up this months comics, orange juice, milk, and checked out both Keith Coldsnow’s Art Supplies and Utrech for price checks on materials I might need. Picked up some small soft pastels to do some tests with, too.

Suddenly feel exhausted, and this is after doing nothing more strenuous than reading the archives of “Ozy and Millie” for the last 45 minutes. Plus, mara signed off, so I can’t even have her pass on my message like I wanted…I think I’ll go to bed.

Oh, and I started actively re-reading TGS this morning as well.
