Nov. 7th, 2003 02:09 aminteresting (and odd) thing: I keep getting weird calls recently. i think the first was about 2 weeks ago at about 12 at night; I pick up without waiting for the anwserign machine to pick up, figuring, who else but one of my friends would be calling this late? I get a repetative mechancial clicking sound on the other end, no repsonse or human taking over when I ask who is there.
Then yesterday I got a series of hang-up calsl which I figured to be telemarketers...except I pick up a couple, and there doesn't seem to be anyone on the other end. No breathing, no sound at all, just empty air.
Well, I thought it may have been the liberal arts director lady, Phylis, since it seemed a coincidence I'd be getting so many of these the day after giving her my number (the whole creative writing program entry thingy) since my anwering machine has tricked people into thinking they'd gotten a wrong number in the past.
So I see her tonight at Hal's lecture, and ask her if she'd call yet. She says no, not till next week will she have time, and I make sounds of understanding. 9that is what she'd told me wednesday anyway.) So I explain why I was asking, these weird phone calls, and she responds poker-faced, "okay, I'll admit it. It was me, I'm stalking you."
*snrrrrk*
It's nice to have someone with that sense of humor as the head of any department, but then, given the way she introduced Hal (as the "sexiest grandfather she'd ever met" )had to be a tipoff. ; )
I hope she turns out to be as cool as I presently think she is.
and now, sleep.
