Recent Stuff

Currently at the Fleisher library (thursday is volunteer night) and it si quiet here, with my fellow thursday volunteer being away with family tonight.

House-y progress:
Naomi and her dad have now placed the orders for all fice appliances, plus finished planning out the kitchen with Ikea's auto-CAD program, so they'll likely be putting in the order for that in the next day or so.

Naomi and AT are almost through patching the cracks in the dining room and hallways walls (the place was built in the 1880's and has settled a bit) and should finish up with that plus the sanding-above-head-height tomorrow. I prepped the third floor bathroom- which is almost as big as my childhood bedroom- the other day, and it has one crack to be patched, otherwise is ready to be painted. The blue room will be remaining blue and so only needs its floor buffed and re-sealed.

My room-to-be...today I finished with the cleaning, and started to painter's tape up the edgings. Halfway through one wall my roomates-to-be decided this was a good time to go out to get the paint tinted, since we'd settled for the colors for the kitchen/ 2nd-and-3rd floor bathrooms (dockside blue) and the living room/dining room/middle 3rd floor bedroom (sand dollar). We also picked up some gel-based paint stripper to use on the window sills. Both AT and I got samples of the colors we were planning on for our rooms, too. I went with wisteria, and the sample patches I did on the wall look pretty good; not too dark or overwhelming.

Tomorrow's plan for me is to finish taping the borders in my room-to-be, sand the walls, test the paint stripper on my sills and start painting if I get that far. And if I manage to finish all that, I'll do the first coat on the 3rd floor bathroom as well.

So yeah, I'm still aiming to move on Saturday, July 25th; it presently looks as though we'll have no problem getting what we need done for the move to be accomplished in time.

Which is not to say everything will be done- chances are the hallways won't be- but it doesn't all need to be. Just the bedrooms and the living and dining rooms; the places where we have to put stuff.

Also running around with an average of 5.5 hours of sleep a night for pretty much this entire week is really starting to take a toll on me. @_@
