Jul. 17th, 2009 11:16 pmI have paint in my hair, and a purple room. ^_^
I couldn't come over to work on the house yesterday afternoon because I had a walk-through for a potential renter at 4pm, and volunteering at Fleisher at 6:30. I call Naomi to remind her to come a little early so we can drop off the three stacks of books that Steph left for me to donate to the Fleisher library, and she replies with a, "Do you mind working late to help us put in the kitchen floor?" "Uh, sure," I says.
It took us from about 10:30pm to 2:20am, and a lot of cutting with a mitre saw that Naomi's dad mostly handled, but we got it done. It's Ikea's Tundra click-together flooring, and it looks really good.
This afternoon and evening was spent slogging in another carload of my stuff, then touching up the paint borders near the kitchen ceiling, then painting the inside of my closets white (they were painted the same goldenrod as the rest of the room, and I'm removing the doors to make them into booksehlves since the closets are only about 7 inches deep anyway), then got the first coat of paint on the three remaining walls of my room. And then Naomi and I did the trim of the kitchen window, since we're going to Ikea to pick up the parts of the kitchen tomorrow morning and once it is assembled things like the window will be much harder to reach.
Also, due to the early Ikea run tomorrow, I'm crashing in Naomi's spare bedroom tonight. Tomorrow will be spent hauling furniture parts, and then...well, then I don't know, because I haven't heard back from Jo yet. If there are no plans there, then I'll default to assembling Ikea stuff and figuring out if it is worth it to take the train down to Otakon on Sunday on the possiblity of seeing 'Rika and Anna.
I'm also typing on Naomi's Mac Book, so it is unlikely there will be any UFF tonight, since my laptop is at home. Ah, well. That means when I finally do post, I'll have to make it a pretty big one.
