Honestly, it was only a matter of time.
Jul. 16th, 2007 01:47 amToo much fic...in head...it leaks...out of my ears...and fingertips...
Okay. I have yet another large something in my head. I'm calling it "Crossing the Line" because it is a fic I fully recognize as doing something I should not be doing. I hate stories like this usually, seeing them in the various fanfic archives out there usually makes me roll my eyes wondering what the hell the authors were thinking; I find them as mind-boggling as mpreg stories and usually they aren't written very well. (This is a generalization, mind you. A good author can make you believe and even enjoy reading just about anything.)
I was reflecting on this very fact when the idea grabbed onto my brain and wriggled inside, saying "Well I bet you wouldn't mind a world-displacement story if it had a decent set-up and realistic reactions, 'cause you love crossovers and W-D is a cousin to that genre."
And my stupid brain replied, "A Displacement Fic that is actually a crossover in disguise, with a plot that didn't fall out of the sky and interactions that are believable from both sides? Huh. I wonder what THAT would look like..."
The idea grinned, showing teeth like a shark, and began to gnaw.
I should have known better. *hangs head in shame*
I'm jotting it down, but I'm going to do my best to set it aside until I get some of the other things on my plate done. I've got more than enough distractions at the moment.
