prelude to a road trip

I'm in Pittsburgh; the train rides weren't too bad, although Shao Lin figured out at some point last night that I was planning on escaping and starting kitty guilt-tripping me. This involved acting cuter than usual, meowing more pathetically than usual, lying on my bag, and giving me dirty looks up until the point when I was outside waiting for the cab- he hopped in the front window just to eye-gleam at me and send me mental promises of inappropriate functions all over my sister's house for daring to leave him there alone for a few days. *sends Shao mental hugs* I'm a little worried about him.

I slept not last night, busy trying to finish some things and being distracted by simultaneous crime investigation show marathons on USA and Spiketv. Slept a fair chunk of the seven-hour second train ride though, not too shabby, and my neck and back feel mostly okay.

So, we did some in-Pittsburgh chores tonight including hitting a kinkos for Mara and a Wallgreens for road snacks and a bar for karaoke. Because the night (belongs to us). I got plenty applause, so I couldn't have been too bad.

We're planning to leave around 10am tomorrow and its supposed to be an 8-hour ride, so we're looking at a 6-pm-ish arrival time barring delays.

Didn't finish any art or AMVs or even start the costume idea I had back in 2005. It looks like I'll be finishing the two vids I wanted to have done to debut...a week or so after I get back to Philadelphia. sigh. Such be life, and I'd rather have them a year late and the best I can make them, than rushed and mediocre.

Emambu and I kept mooing at eachother, thus requiring a viewing of the first few eps of the Naruto Abridged series to clear up Stephanie's vast confusion. I'm looking for something to snack on since all the food is in the car, and trying to wind down so I can get some sleep.

This probably means I'm going to be writing a little more tonight.
