I was freaked there for a minute. I did a major clean-up of my computer files, and the shortcuts on my desktop don't seem to be active. (Luckily everything is intact, both art and writing, and all theose ghost partial files are finally gone).
But then none of my internet accessing tools would work. not msn, not irc...I think I got AOL to work. but none of my browsers.
But then I recalled having a problem with this with my (usually inactive) firewall, and adjusting the settings let me through.
let's hope everything else is okay.
