Apr. 10th, 2003 03:07 pmspent about 100 bucks at KC Metro this morning, AFTER the discount. lotsa glazes, and 50 lbs of terracotta. don't have the time or the energy to spare to mix.
placed and poured the other half of the next beast (3) the first wagon one. am going to attempt two more, both low-fire white. side one is practically ready to come out, and side two will be dry in a day or so. I'm going to use my bought terracotta, rolls slabs as the rest of the connectors...it bonds well enough with the low-fire white...well, i guess we'll see with the first beasty.
poured a low-fire beast head, and took out the low-fire cast teapot, mold into the drybox. for the garg teapots I'm going to do four more- cast one the 11,13, drybox for three days, 17, and 19. that will give me a total of...a lot. nine, I believe.
the beast heads I'll cast on...12, 15, 17, and 20. that will give me 2 more wagon heads, another teapot, and a bobble-head.
did most of the cleaning of the next two mold pieces for each of project 3's molds, will finish tonight and cast the next piece for each. Friday the bottle mold will be finished...possibly the Hawthorne one as well if I am industrious enough. I won't need to clean the fourth sides of each, they'll already match their mate's surface.
drybox both of them for the weekend and start casting. I only need three bottle...may do a fourth anyway. 14th, 16, 17, 19, 20, 22, 23. that gives me one throwaway, five for the base, and one to actually make into Hawthorne. as I don't intend to glaze that one, I should be okay, time-wise.
nap now. mix a batch of Mary's white slip later.
