tomorrow is April 6. lawst day for Junior bisques is the 23rd, so I'm in a slight better position than I thought, having a little over two weeks to get everything done...aslo, since I'm once-firing everything, as long as the 23rd is my last wet day, I should be alright. Final crits are on May 02.

what I would like to have for said final semester crit:

knot bowl
knot jar (need to check studio, make sure nobody accidentally ditched this since wednesday...or if tyhey possibly made it into a kiln.)

beast 1 started(saved beast. on rockers- possibly wooden ones.)
beast 2 started (wheeled, terracotta)
beast 3 planned as low-fire white slip and terra sigilata
beast 4 planned as low-fire white slip

ritual basin
original pouring vessel blank for basin, and three casts with the god-head sculpted onto each, and matching patterning from the basin.

(these projets represent Plaster Class projects 1,2, and 3, repsectively)

Binnah
Hezekial
the Joachim (I know I say this every week, but I think I can finish him tomorrow. Teri has a corn mold I can use for his scales...err, that is, a plaster cast mold of an ear of corn.)

beast head teapot 1- almost done (terracotta)
beast head teapot 2 – planned (porcelain)
beast head teapot 3 – planned (terracotta with blackslip? Sgrafitto’d?)

gargoyle teapot 1 – started (terracotta)
gargoyle teapot 2 – started (porcelain, sphinx)
gargoyle teapot 3 – started (terracotta, reaching front leg, spiked spine)
gargoyle teapot 4 – planned (ribbed wings)
gargoyle teapot 5 – planned (animalistic)
gargoyle teapot 6 – planned
gargoyle teapot 7 – planned

raincatcher 1 – started (high-fire white. Need to clean up and fire.)
raincatcher 2 – started (terracotta)
sink – planned
fountain – planned
art deco goyle tile 1 – planned
art deco goyle tile 2 -planned

muse 1 – Melpomene/ Tragedy (Hawthorne) – started today, and almost “done”. This form I’m casting as using the casts as a part of the base for the ritual basin.
...okay, I’ve just decided that I’m putting the muse project on hold until next semester. I’ve got too much to do in the way of sculpting already for the raincatchers and the gargoyle teapot blanks...not to mention the sink and fountain ideas, which will make my whole theme for the semester stronger. I can make the cast of Hawthorne for Melpomene next semester; I really would like to have one of her as herself for the con. And I want as many authors whose characters I am using to see them as possible, and Christine Morgan (Godiva / Erato) isn’t coming to NY’03...Blacquiere might be, he wants to, but I think there is a stronger chance of him going to next year, which is in Montreal, and Stormy (Luther/ Polyhymnia) doubts she can make this year...and if they both go, there is a stronger chance of Cyrway (Eddie/Calliope) going. Norcumi (Megan/ Clio), I believe, will go every year no matter where it is as long as the money holds out for her, which as far as I know there is no problem with. Spike (Asrial/ Urania...her TGS creation) and Fleur Rhine (Ivory/ Thalia)...I have no clue about. And while I’m under the impression that The Barracuda (Rain/ Euterpe) is canadian, I don’t know if he goes to cons, either.

Anyway, the dark triumvirate of writers amd Mrs. Morgan are the four in the fandom I am most in awe of, and Norcumi is a good friend, so 5/8 isn’t bad (if they all make the Montreal con.)
For anyone out there who happened to stumble across this and is wondering, yes I know I am missing a muse in my count. I’m using one of my own characters, Sigil, for Terpsichore, the muse of dance.

I think next semester I'll do a few gargoyle cribs...go back to bringing more symbology into my work, which the muses work nicely for.

anyway, my schedule today...after I got back from the beaux arts fashion show lst night(which was pretty spiff...on a tangent, I've decided that next year I want to be in it, dressed to the nines in full costume as Sarasvati [or possibly Sigil] and do a belly dance.) I wound up reading in the tub until 5 am, fell asleep a little before 6, got up at 1, did checks and money-related stuff at 2-3, Gathering related stuff until about 4, and then went into studio. I stayed in studio, working, until a little before 1 am.
that's almost nine hours, strait. I bought my dinner from the Qucik Trip, and cara let me use her microwave in studio.

Had a nice talk with Mark about the work I'm doing now, as well.

I've got reading for my War Short Stories class, and a paper to write tommorrow, so I can't do another whole-day haul...however, I should be able to finish the Joachim, and at least two of the teaposts as well. I need to pour slip for the bellies of my next cast beast halves tomorrow. I need to finish Hawthorne, and let her dry, and hopefully start casting the plaster for her on monday.(I'm probably going to have to cut her off her base- it is her muse form that needs it, not the casts in general).
Also need to roll slabs for the basin's stand, the pouring vessel, and it's seat- well, three seats, one for each jar that will be cast. (and have the head of the god it represents carved on the side? damn, need to list those too.)

now I need to check the Boards and the Gathering Inbox one more time, then sleep. with daylight savings, it is now 3:20 am.
